Aluminum Cable Tray
Aluminum tray is what buyers specify when steel is too heavy or the environment punishes it: corrosive air, weight-limited roofs and structures, and installations where a clean appearance matters. Our aluminum range is produced in 6061-T6 and 6063-T5 alloys, both as sheet-formed tray and as extruded profiles — the profile form is the one used for long-span runs.

Why buyers specify it
- Light in the hand, strong on the run: aluminum carries its loads at a fraction of steel weight — cheaper handling, lighter support structures
- Corrosion resistance is in the alloy itself: aluminum forms its own protective surface and does not rust, indoors or out
- Non-magnetic and signal-friendly: aluminum tray does not shield or distort the signals of the cables it carries — a standard specification in communications and data facilities
- Two production forms: sheet-formed tray for general runs, and extruded profiles where long spans and higher stiffness are needed
Specifications
| Alloys | 6061-T6 · 6063-T5 |
|---|---|
| Forms | Sheet-formed tray · extruded profile tray (extruded profiles for long spans and higher stiffness) |
| Properties | Lightweight · self-protecting against rust · non-magnetic and signal-friendly |
| Use it where | Food plants · technology factories · data & communication rooms · coastal and weight-critical installations |
| Not stated in the catalog | No “not suitable” environment is stated for aluminum in the catalog; section and alloy are selected per span and load |
| Trade-off | A fraction of steel weight with lighter supports and handling — selected by size and alloy for the span and load, confirmed with your quotation |
Ranges from the Hongfeng product catalog parameter tables. Exact model tables (SWL / weight per size) are sent with your quotation.
Load & installation conditions
Aluminum sections are selected by size and alloy for the span and load — send both with your inquiry and the quotation states the section selected. Extruded-profile sections are the basis for long-span aluminum runs; sheet-formed sections serve general tray duty in the same size ranges as the steel systems.
Custom & supply
Aluminum orders are produced to order in the specified alloy and form, surface-protected and bundled separately from steel production for export. Fittings are supplied in aluminum to match — no mixed-metal joints in the run.
Fittings in matching aluminum
Bends, tees, crosses, reducers and covers for an aluminum order are produced in aluminum alloy to match the straights, keeping the run one material throughout — important where galvanic contact between different metals is a design concern. The full count is packed into the same shipment.
Where it is used
Food plants & technology factories
Clean, corrosion-resistant runs where steel weight and rust are both problems.
Data & communication rooms
Non-magnetic tray that does not shield or distort the signals of the cables it carries.
Coastal & weight-critical installations
Weight-limited roofs and structures, and corrosive air where aluminum protects itself.
Long spans in aluminum
Extruded-profile sections are the basis for long-span aluminum runs; sheet-formed sections serve general tray duty.

Frequently asked questions
What do I choose for a dry indoor environment?
Pre-galvanized (40 / 80 / 275 g/m²) or electro-galvanized (8–25 µm) is enough — with the known limit that cut-edge protection is thinner than the flat faces.
What do I choose for outdoor or coastal duty?
Hot-dip galvanized 45 / 65 / 85 µm (65–85 µm is the usual outdoor and coastal specification), or stainless 304 / 316, aluminum, or ZAM for photovoltaic, communications and railway projects.
What do I choose for chemical or wastewater atmospheres?
FRP (corrosion-proof, electrically insulating), stainless steel (grade per project specification) or polymer — and note that metal load tables do not transfer directly to FRP, so FRP selection is confirmed with your quotation.
How are color and cover matching decided?
Powder-coat color is customizable per the catalog note; cover material match, MOQ and custom lead time are all confirmed with your quotation.
