Hot-Dip Galvanized Cable Tray
Hot-dip galvanizing happens after the tray is made: the finished section is immersed in the zinc bath, so the coating covers everything — flat faces, cut edges, welds and punched holes alike. Our catalog HDG grades are 45, 65 and 85 µm. This is the finish specified where tray lives outdoors: solar plants, coastal sites, open industrial areas and metallurgical plants.

Pick a style, material and finish — the matching model rows highlight below, and your selection is written into the inquiry form at the bottom of the page (you can still edit it there).
Why buyers specify it
- Coated after fabrication: the zinc covers cut edges, welds and connection holes that pre-galvanized sheet leaves exposed
- Three catalog grades — 45 / 65 / 85 µm — matched to exposure: 65–85 µm is the usual specification for outdoor and coastal duty
- The matte crystalline zinc surface is the working finish of outdoor infrastructure: solar farms, substations, ports and plant exteriors
- Every steel system we make is available hot-dip galvanized — perforated, ladder, trough, long-span, wire mesh and strut channel
Specifications
| Zinc layer | 45 / 65 / 85 µm (grade selected per project specification) |
|---|---|
| Process | Hot-dip galvanized after fabrication — full immersion, covering cut edges, welds and punched holes |
| Support-hardware note | Catalog support chapter: hot-dip galvanizing to TS-EN ISO 1461:2011 (brace fitting bases, catalog p.123) |
| Use it where | Outdoor, coastal and humid sites — solar, substations, ports, metallurgy, open plant areas |
| Not stated in the catalog | No “not suitable” environment is stated for HDG in the catalog; the µm grade is selected per project specification |
| Trade-off | Coating grade does not change the load table — it changes corrosion life in the environment, so the quotation states the µm grade it is priced on |

Load & installation conditions
Coating grade does not change the tray's load table — sizes and safe working loads follow the same catalog parameter tables as the base steel system. What the grade changes is corrosion life in the environment, which is why the quotation states the µm grade it is priced on, in writing.
Custom & supply
HDG orders are galvanized in batches matched to the shipment, so straights, fittings and covers arrive with the same finish tone. Bundles are strapped and protected for export, with loading photographed before the container is sealed.
Fittings hot-dip galvanized too
Every bend, tee, cross, reducer and cover in an HDG order goes through the same zinc bath route as the straights — the run is one finish throughout, joints included. Splice plates and hardware are supplied in matching hot-dip galvanized finish and counted into the same shipment.
Where it is used
Outdoor & solar sites
Solar plants, substations and open industrial areas where the tray lives outdoors.
Coastal & port environments
Salt air and humidity — 65–85 µm is the usual specification for outdoor and coastal duty.
Humid & metallurgical plants
Open plant areas and metallurgical sites where pre-galvanized edge protection is not enough.
When HDG is not the answer
The catalog states no “not suitable” environment for HDG — but for chemical and wastewater atmospheres where coatings are attacked, compare stainless steel and FRP and let the quotation state the basis.

Frequently asked questions
What do I choose for a dry indoor environment?
Pre-galvanized (40 / 80 / 275 g/m²) or electro-galvanized (8–25 µm) is enough — with the known limit that cut-edge protection is thinner than the flat faces.
What do I choose for outdoor or coastal duty?
Hot-dip galvanized 45 / 65 / 85 µm (65–85 µm is the usual outdoor and coastal specification), or stainless 304 / 316, aluminum, or ZAM for photovoltaic, communications and railway projects.
What do I choose for chemical or wastewater atmospheres?
FRP (corrosion-proof, electrically insulating), stainless steel (grade per project specification) or polymer — and note that metal load tables do not transfer directly to FRP, so FRP selection is confirmed with your quotation.
How are color and cover matching decided?
Powder-coat color is customizable per the catalog note; cover material match, MOQ and custom lead time are all confirmed with your quotation.
