Stainless Steel Cable Tray
The same tray systems as our steel range — perforated, ladder, solid-bottom trough and wire mesh — produced in stainless steel grades 201, 304 and 316. Stainless is what buyers specify where the environment attacks coated steel: chemical plants, wastewater treatment, hospitals and food facilities, and coastal or outdoor runs where a galvanized coating alone is not the answer.
Configure your variant
Pick a style, material and finish — the matching model rows highlight below, and your selection is written into the inquiry form at the bottom of the page (you can still edit it there).
Why buyers specify it
- Three grades, one logic: 201 for dry indoor runs, 304 as the general corrosion-resistant grade, 316 where chlorides are present — coastal air, chemical and wastewater exposure (catalog grade table: 201 / 304 / 316)
- The grade difference is nickel content — tell us the exposure and the quotation names the grade it is priced on, so you are never paying for 316 where 304 does the job, or maintaining 201 where it cannot
- No coating to scratch through, peel or re-galvanize: the corrosion resistance is the metal itself, inside and out, including cut edges and drilled holes
- Stainless also leads the steel family on heat dissipation and fire behaviour in our range — a reason it is specified in hospitals and process plants
Specifications
| Grades | 201 · 304 · 316 (grade selection per project specification & exposure) |
|---|---|
| Catalog codes | S4 / S6 in the series tables |
| Grade logic | 201 dry indoor · 304 general corrosion resistance · 316 chloride-bearing environments (coastal air, chemical, wastewater) |
| Use it where | Hospitals and chemical plants · wastewater treatment facilities · coastal and outdoor projects (catalog applications) |
| Do NOT use it where | 201 is not for corrosive environments; and 316 is not a universal answer — grade selection follows the project specification and exposure conditions |
| Trade-off | No coating to scratch, peel or re-galvanize — corrosion resistance is the metal itself, including cut edges and drilled holes — at a higher cost than galvanized steel, so grade is matched, not overspecified |
Ranges from the Hongfeng product catalog parameter tables. Exact model tables (SWL / weight per size) are sent with your quotation.
Load & installation conditions
Loads follow the same per-model catalog parameter tables as the steel systems (material codes S4 / S6 in the series tables); the grade changes corrosion behaviour, not the geometry. Send your span and cable load and the quotation cites the exact size and grade together.
Custom & supply
Stainless orders are produced to order in the specified grade and bundled separately from galvanized production, film-wrapped and palletised for export. Fittings, covers and splice hardware are supplied in the same stainless grade — no mixed-metal joints in the shipment.
Fittings in the same stainless grade
Bends, tees, crosses, reducers and covers for a stainless order are supplied in the same stainless grade as the straights — no mixed-metal joints in the shipment. Matching stainless covers are formed to the tray width, with the side connection-hole pattern for splice plates as on the steel systems.
Where it is used
Hospitals & chemical plants
Catalog typical applications — where coated steel is attacked and hygiene or process atmospheres rule.
Wastewater treatment facilities
Catalog typical application for stainless tray.
Coastal & outdoor projects
Catalog typical application; 316 where chlorides are present.
Not for: 201 in corrosive service
201 is the dry-indoor grade. Corrosive or chloride-bearing service takes 304 or 316, selected per the project specification — never overspecified by default.

Frequently asked questions
What do I choose for a dry indoor environment?
Pre-galvanized (40 / 80 / 275 g/m²) or electro-galvanized (8–25 µm) is enough — with the known limit that cut-edge protection is thinner than the flat faces.
What do I choose for outdoor or coastal duty?
Hot-dip galvanized 45 / 65 / 85 µm (65–85 µm is the usual outdoor and coastal specification), or stainless 304 / 316, aluminum, or ZAM for photovoltaic, communications and railway projects.
What do I choose for chemical or wastewater atmospheres?
FRP (corrosion-proof, electrically insulating), stainless steel (grade per project specification) or polymer — and note that metal load tables do not transfer directly to FRP, so FRP selection is confirmed with your quotation.
How are color and cover matching decided?
Powder-coat color is customizable per the catalog note; cover material match, MOQ and custom lead time are all confirmed with your quotation.
